Tools you will need:

10mm Socket (optional)
13mm Socket
Short 19mm Socket
Swivel adapter for Socket
Ratchet Extension (long or short)

Procedure:

1. Remove the 2 large bolts that hold the bumper onto the car. They are located on the bottom of the bumper, above the fog lights. These bolts are on very tight and use a 19mm socket.

2. Slide one side of the bumper off the bumper shock so you can see the back side of the turn signal. Then remove the turn signal plug. Now push this side of the bumper back onto the bumper shock and pull out the other side of the bumper and remove the turn signal plug. Then you can pull the whole bumper off the car.

3. Now is a good time to remove the rubber bumper pads if you want. Simply remove the nuts on the back of the bumper and pull off the pad (10mm socket).

4. Remove the 2 bolts that hold the bumper shock onto the car (13mm socket). Then pull the bumper shock off the car. Do this for both sides.

5. Install the new brackets in the same place as the old bumper shocks and fully tighten the bolts. Placing the brackets in the middle of the slotted holes seems to be the best. If needed, these could be adjusted later.

6. Once both brackets are fully installed you can slide the bumper back onto the car. This will be a reverse of how the bumper was removed. Slide the bumper straight on and basically fully in its slot. Pull one side out a little and plug in the turn signal and push that side back in. Then pull out the other side and plug in the turn signal. Now you can push the bumper fully onto the brackets.

7. Installing the bolts back into the bumper can be a little tricky with the limited room. Here’s what we have found helpful. You can use your finger (or a long extension) to see if the bumper is lined up with the bracket and the hole, by sticking it into the hole and feeling if the bracket hole is lined up with the bumper hole. Then you can move the bumper slightly to align the two holes. Be very careful that your finger is NOT in the holes when moving the bumper. You can get seriously hurt doing that.

Once you get one hole lined up, you can install the bolt. It seems easiest to start the bolt with your fingers. Slide it into the bumper and turn it a few times so it stays in. Then you can align the other bumper hole without having to worry about moving the first side out of alignment. Then start the second bolt into the bumper with your fingers.
